What?

Also in that pic Blaz even says "don't worry, he's friendly" at which point you make a liar out of your own villager. The scumbag villager vibe is strong with this one.

Maybe, but you can't tell us who we should keep in our village and who we shouldn't. We didn't want Frost for sure.
You just don't have any arguments against us killing him instead of recruiting.

We are looking for nice grills tho btw, feet pics required.

That's the point - you don't do that if you don't want to see your village destroyed.

This stuff happened daily in Haven and noone would complain about game mechanics. Spies and traitors were all over the place.
But you know what? That's what made the game so fun. Something happened everyday, someone got raided from the inside, someone bashed someone's high quality kiln, someone placed a ram at their plot. You had to be careful about inviting people to join your village, and that also made the bigger factions such a deal. Not everyone could get in, others had to establish peaceful relations or try to become a big faction on their own. That was a lot of fun, way more social interaction (instead of a HUGE map, so empty, with noone ever running into someone).

Now they're trying to make this game a generic MMO where you can't do any of that, because no. I honestly don't know why they're trying to change everything that was basically fundamental for this game. We don't want shitty quests system like Salem had (frustating as fuck), nor we don't want to "visit" our enemies villages. We want to be able to do whatever we want, like we were able to a year ago. Just with more content, not completely changed and wiped mechanics.

You know what? This game is kinda piramidal. New players come to the forum to learn a bit and to observe the comunity. New players develop their chars and empires from 0 and some try to join bigger factions or villages. The best option is to avoid bigger factions, but since bigger factions fuck the newbs introducing moles in their villages there is no way someone could recruit from the forum without this risk. I had a village last world, we were all noobs and some of us were or are friends. We weren't expecting any betrayal because we weren't dangerous. After the betrayal we dismissed and just 3 or 4 continued playing. After 2 months none of them were playing.
And of course its abusive because one thing is spying, and other its just destroying months of work with one click and more lies. Thats fucking abusive. And if the devs want this shit to happen, the more logical thing would be allowing people to do something about, but its impossible to retaliate such strategy without doing the same.
And you might think you are brilliant strategists...

No, you're just bad at securing your village.

Also, everyone was a newb once. Newbs that get killed once and give up (most of them quit) - the game isn't meant for them obviously. Newbs that continue trying to get good though eventually get good. I can't count how many times I've got killed before I made it anywhere.
Back in the days, when there was more than 3 factions, a lot of action everyday, long ass posts about things that happened. That was fun. Because, no matter how and what happened (a betrayal, gank, massive industry, whatever) it was the social interaction. Now, there's almost none of it.
Politics were a real thing too.

That's right. I got killed a lot of times in w6, and here I am. And n ot everybody is like that, you are right again. But this is not about legit pvp kills, its about opening gates.
I'm pretty sure you can spot the difference.
Also about the security: You are very sure about your friends because you all know each other, but people who has just started playing doesnt have that luck.

You can't blame devs for that loosed interaction because you broke the toy. Same has happened with lighting kinls and so, now we need to loose our time trying to light it because of the abuse.

I don't blame the devs. They obviously have their own plan for this game. A lot of people will enjoy it too.
I'm just saying it from my perspective, whining about things I think aren't working well in Haven, but I know some people that also share my point. This game will not end up like Salem (being complete trash) for sure, even though its pay to play there will be active players. But I just think that it won't be the same Haven as it was. It will be more of a casual village-building game, kind of a generic MMO.

I hope they make it high, but I just think it's a different game now. For different type of players, maybe. It's not by any means bad though.

But also, it's only Alpha anyway, we'll see in which direction J&L go, maybe I'm wrong and they actually make it the good old Haven again.
