+1 Bring back global chat (we used to have that in w7 right? I'm not crazy? lol)
I too have recently noticed the lack of global chat in game makes things really lonely. Compared to a few other games I've dabbled with over the last few years. Which have active chat in game, It's just nice to have, and even if I'm not a big talker in chat it's nice to read sometimes. Learn a few tips ect. It would probably help with community teaming up and interacting more. Have a trade chat, global chat, maybe other channels too.
Noob area could have some basic combat in it, tell the new player how to fight ants ect (give temp stats that are taken away when player leaves tutorial area). At least they can get a sense of how things work then. Could do this for other aspects like crafting (temp stats/unlocks to show players how things work later in game). Incentive to complete tut could be provided via 500 exp and maybe 200 lp or something. Just a lil boost.
tldr -
1. Bring back global chat, add trade chat in game.
2. Expand on tutorial/new player area, give temporary stats while in tut area so players can see how combat/crafting/building works later game. Let them fight ants/bats or something.
