I'm confident half my kin list thinks the same too. Bonuses aren't nearly as important as people think in deciding where to emigrate.
See, the problem with your paragraph is the assumption that living in a farmer/warmonger kingdom changes anything for you.

Your metric of pleasure seems to be very simplistic: big numbers = more fun, small numbers = less fun. It might surprise you, but for somebody it might matter whether the XP they are generating is feeding bloodthirsty murderers or peaceful crafters.

They definitely do and jorb especially seems to enjoy it but I can't say I know how he feels one way or the other. Loftar however did admit we may share similar aspirations for this game but they just don't know what to do to make it more... fair, I guess.

thats easy. village claims take 2 RL DAYS to expand. Realms should in my eyes at least double that and carins have to be on realm land just like village claims.
also carins should be farrrrrr more materials. village claims are 20 cloth carins are 5 and fucking stone? like really?

usually ppl that make kingdoms are like 25+ man/woman deep. 5 cloth and 200 stone is a breeze. while villages with 5 to 10 are struggling on getting cloth for a decent size village

It's hard to say. Everyone in opposition to DIS seems to be a disorganized rabble at this point. I definitely believe an assault on kingdom borders should easily be possible inside of village assault timers but...

It's probably best if I keep my mouth shut until I actually know what I'm talking about and that goes for many things right now. The game has changed a lot since last I played and the last thing I want is to start running my mouth if only garbage is going to come out.

It's also difficult to match the dedication and solidarity of purpose that some of the community has and I think DIS contains a disproportionate number of these players currently. From an unaffected and hence dispersonal perspective it's difficult not to have some degree of respect or even admiration for the faction which displays these qualities most. I can kind of understand where Jorb comes from in this respect.

To a large degree things are I believe working as intended.

If that's true a first step would be getting rid of jorb.

Idk dude, how many hours a week should I be putting in to this game to rank up from disorganized rabble to something better? 10? 20? 50? More? Because I can guarantee you I'm not the only person feeling like I play a fulltime job in my leisure time and the only reason most if not all of these major factions stay ahead is through the use of bots, so regardless of the effort one might legitimately try to put in to this game it will never be enough to compete with automated scripts.

Even placing a siege camp outside their village is out of the question, trying to setup an idol or claim or any siege machinery in secret is impossible when there are scripts running patrol alts around and relaying alarms/warnings.

That's this game now, bots and more bots and very little fun beyond the early game stages.

Some very good points.

I have some thoughts on making the game a bit more 'casual' friendly but I'd like to be working off current in-game experience before making any suggestions.

In saying that though I'm totally unsure of how to separate the wheat from the chaff and retain the competitive spirit of the game while removing all the torturous tedium. Should casuals be capable of competing with the hardcore? How can you retain the struggle for power without timesinks that are inevitably botted and without turning the game into baby food?

I could think of some ways involving random world spawn pvp objectives but even that isn't a complete solution. These things are honestly beyond me for now so I have just been focusing on the barrier to entry for new players and the new player experience even though the issues you raise need to be fixed before anything like a steam release.

Just saying its 2 in game days for villages, the game switches between in game and rl days way too much tbh
