Ah, yes, that's actually the new mechanic to replace the "cannot build in 24 hours". Instead, the houses' (and walls') soak grow gradually to their full values while setting, which takes 3 days IIRC.

At at game start when you cant protect your things its wide open to griefing. I prefer the wait three days
