Awesome terrace farm.

Awesome terrace farm.

And will probably stay awesome unless the owner decides to expand eastwards. A few more claimed tiles will completely seal off already half-claimed mountain spring, the only water way up to the mountaintop. People will be displeased. Just saying, since the spotlight hit that particular location, I do hope the owner understands the consequences of having an important waterway completely claimed over.

Can't ships go through claimed areas without trouble? I'm fairly sure this happened in legacy, didn't know it wasn't so here in Hafen... Sorry about that.
Well, I don't plan on expanding it anyway - so it shouldn't be an issue... I guess I'll also allow trespassing for Whites, too, that should minimize the damage. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah it has changed Dani, we asked about it awhile back ... Jorb said it was an unintentional change that came about when fixing a bug, we did ask him to fix it and put it back like it was before so you could boat through rivers without leaving scents, but he either decided not to, or, hasn't gotten around to it yet ... :(

Allowing trespassing on white solves the problem tho in this instance. :)

Not quite, since, apparently, you have to still be in the kin list of said owner and not just a random "white". Not sure if this is the case, but adding trespassing still triggers the "this land is owned by someone" stop, anyways.

As long as part of the river is not claimed, though, it's all right, so, since the owner is aware of the situation, we can safely assume the issue is resolved.

Ahh right, I didn't know about the kin list thing ... that seems pretty silly imo ... thanks for the info though ... and yeah. :)

Yes, you can turn objects when placing them by holding Shift! If you hold both Shift and Ctrl, you can even fine tune the rotation with minor angle steps! Only holding Ctrl also allows you to place objects more freely on the grid!

Thanks! It's an honor to have you commenting here! :D

Yes, I didn't know about that either. I guess I'll give my farmer a heartsecret and spread it so people that want to pass there more freely can kin her... I don't plan on expanding the farm anyway, so the passage will always be free there :)
Thanks Amanda and Hasta for pointing stuff out :)

Well... here it goes!

CHAPTER 11:
HAVING NICE THINGS

Because we can have nice things! Don't believe it when people tell you otherwise! And punch them if they insist!
Just kidding, don't punch anyone, please :(

Anyway... This chapter is a simple one, it's all about things!
Things have been happening... and here are some of them!

Image

On the animal front, I finally got an ewe! Had to tame 4 mouflons before the first ewe appeared... the other 2 have valiantly joined some other animals in my larder... Well, bits of them. Some other bits became bone glue, some became leather... Oh, well...

Image

I've also got my first foal! Congratulations Minerva and Nimbus. Stormbringer will be an awesome stallion! He got excellent qualities at birth, although a lower than average metabolism... Well, he'll be welcome indeed :3 Besides, he's cute!

Image

Deep inside the heart of the mountain, I finally got Deep Artifice and could now start a proper vein excavation for all the ore I can get! Quality has improved a bit, too... with the newer smelters and better fuel from boards, so I've started piling up more useful metal!

Image

I also finally started to use the finery forges for some Wrought Iron! First round wasn't the best ever (just 5 bloom and 3 wrought) but I guess it is a start :)
At least enough to get some crucibles going...

Besides that, I've been working in some very important projects...

Image

Most importantly of them all, I've continued to work on Amanda's room. I like it how it is looking so far, I'm basing my design on her preferences for materials and created a horse portrait as she requested :D I particularly like the bath tub with the rug and the vase for hot water :) I hope she'll like it too  There are still many things that can be improved like their placement or maybe some wine racks, now that we have them... but we'll see. :)

Image

Other than that I've got some more visitors, some people passed by and recognized me from here (the forums) so that's pretty nice! Most of the people I've met recently has been friendly and this makes me feel a bit more safer in the hearthlands, especially now that I'm working on the Inn - the last thing that is needed for Wulf's Retreat to be functional as a public space :)

Image

The last couple of days have also been amazing regarding gifts, too, as usual :D
I really appreciate all of them and they're very helpful with the daily tasks and work. I wish I could repay everyone for their kindness :D
Got another mammoth body by my door these days, they're so good to butcher, so much meat and hides! And the tusk curios are great, so... thanks for that, whoever left it! :D

Image

With my new metals, the functional farm and a lot of meat, it didn't take long before the mammoth was transformed into some tasty specialties of the hearthland cuisine by my farmer alt. I like the frying pan animation, even if it shows a steak when frying eggs... :D

Image

And last but not least, I recently received a very special visit! With a load of awesome tools and metal stuff with AMAZING qualities, this one was probably a game changer. :)
We had some nice talk and I showed him around the place, all the projects and buildings... But I really wish I could do more to repay such generosity! It will be very helpful and a big jump forward for the overall quality of the Retreat... so I can't complain: We do have nice things!

The Retreat is heading for some... great news and happenings in the future :) I can't wait to be able to conclude most of the plans and share all the nice things here! :D
