Edit: Alright, who left a bloody rag in the server fan! it won't budge! (object in game is holding up the save/restart proccess)

It wasn't anything quite that curious in the end. It turned out that a modification I made to allow for autolighting of all the lanterns of a rope also accidentally meant that a Ctrl-Shift transfer could go into a loop of infinitely transferring an item to itself. While it had me more confused than usual at the start, in the end it was a pretty simple bug with a simple fix.
