I did in fact improve the password encryption during this world, and so it's now using bcrypt, but during this reset that has in fact put a fairly high load on the authentication server. It should be reasonably easy to parallelize the auth server, though, so I'm considering doing that rather soon.

But what was it using before? MD4?
You should get proper https certificate, force HTTPS and have email confirmations when changing email and password etc. if you want to focus in security!

It was SHA-256.

I suspect we might have differing opinions on what a "proper" HTTPS certificate means. ^^

Is the server super laggy today or is just my network that it's overwhelmed by kids playing fortnite?
