Does anyone play Solo?

Hi all. Just wondering does anyone play solo at all or everyone work in groups?

Are there any tips for solo players?

I've played solo in 7 of the 8 worlds. My advice is FIND A GROUP.

As a hermit, you will invest an incredible amount of time in building up yourself and your home and one day someone or some group will come along and take it all away in a fraction of the time. I play this game with the attitude that I approach Dwarf Fortress - eventually I will lose. For me, that's usually a cue to take some time off and come back later in the world.

There are exceptions, but they are few, and they can put much more time and thought into this game than I and I admit they are better gamers.

Oh I see. Cool. Haha. I am playing with 2 friends, but I made another char that's going to hunt. Haha. I thought of trying out hermit lol.

I am hermiting at this time, I know it wont be easy, but I also know what I build is my own. But ya the threat of some random dude coming and ending my game right then and there is prety easy, if they can find me anyway.

I like being a hermit. There's no fear of "oh maybe I'm not doing enough" and you can do things at your own pace, in whatever way you want. And you get to learn how to do everything. Being in a group has the added advantage of getting shit done much faster and progressing at a greater rate, and the social aspect, but both are enjoyable playstyles.

I almost always hermit and this world is no different. After i get raided the first time i'll probably try to find a town to catch on with but for the moment, it's just me alone in my idyllic mountain valley.

I've always generally started by playing solo, eventually hooking up with old friends.
I've also never had a big group come and shit all over me as a hermit even in an old world, it's all about playing smart and playing safe, in Hafen even more so than ever before.
