There are still going to be fords and shallow water though, aren't there? They can cross that. What needs to happen is for carts to be able to do so too. :)

I might be a minority, but I have always loved wagon journeys and hated rafts. arched bridges pleeeeeease

what about a specific mine entrance for a wagon to go underground? would make underground bases better and allow underground bridges for rivers
