H&H historical context

Postby pedorlee » Sat Dec 12, 2015 1:52 pm

I'm a bit confused about the ages that comprehend what haven and hearth covers.
I mean, what centuries do this game comprehend? From when to when?
Knowing this we can think in more features to add. This can also give us tips on how to add the game more lore and background.

Since when you're on the dev team? congratulations :P

In all seriousness.
Sericulture spread throught europe around 12th century, first eyeglasses were invented around 13th century, but some naming (fyrdsman's sword) point to earlier times, so we could assume hnh is loosely based on early to mid medieval period, or Dark Ages if you will. Society slipped into barbarism and ignorance then, which reflects the forum community a bit, don't you think?

About Haven & Hearth

Haven & Hearth is a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) set in a fictional world loosely inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend. The game sets itself apart from other games in the genre in its aim to provide players with an interactive, affectable and mutable game world, which can be permanently and fundamentally changed and affected through actions undertaken by the players. Our fundamental goal with Haven & Hearth is to create a game in which player choices have permanent and/or lasting effects and, thus, providing said players with a meaningful and fun gaming experience.

Let your imagination run free.

Well the inclusion of Valhalla and other Nordic themes lend toward the Viking Era.

Sorry for that, my english skills or the time i dedicate to posts surely needs to improve. I wanted to state the age in order to be able to give better ideas. Since the comunity seems to have lately overturned to help giving ideas I'm trying to do my bit.
There is a lot of knoledge involved: talking about some ages most of us simply unknow its a gate to learn while we try to help.
Thats a good motto to start contributing. Help while learning and play learning. Sorry about the redundance, again my english.
I knew nothing about "protoindustries" before playing haven.

Thanks for the link lady ^^

about 2500 to 2000 BC ?!? :o ;)

i guess early middle age to high middle age isn't that wrong (while there are things in game that are "out of time") but

set in a fictional world loosely inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend
so there's no real historical time

They use the term "loosely" not so loosely.

Meaning they really have no idea when exactly it takes place.
Of another era.

90s summer camp
The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets
To a room with its cupboards bare
