So how's this game doing?

Postby Apocoreo » Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:41 pm

So long time player of Legacy Haven. I won't profess to hate the latest changes to the game, I mean it does look pretty good. I'll say I disagree with the pricing system and leave the conversation there before it turns into a shitfest.

Frankly, I quit because my friends quit and I miss this game.

I've been checking in lately and I've seen about 150-300 people playing at peak hours, while there were over 1500 on launch, but of course that would go down, just how it works. So how's the game going? Lots of player interaction? Seems like Jorb and Loftar are really rolling out the updates.

Basically no player interaction.
Starter zone is dead even.

Ladygoo has a trade market that I've yet to go to when it was open but Kaois was saying it's mostly a Russian gathering
Idk, I feel like the game needs more content outside of pvp right now. The world is too big so meeting others is rare. PVE and variety seems to be the answer for now.

More variety in terms of gear, rare and unique items which can be found in things like mine caverns or made from rare spawning animals like arctic bears, yhetis or trolls, and just all around more content to keep people engaged outside of their normal "chores" of feeding animals and swapping curios

It still has lots of work to go. After all the fairly much redid the code. New graphics and content but the heart of the game is still there. Only warning Ill give is if your a free player be prepared for a laid back game. You simply don't have the time for an intense experience. You can however achieve a lot.

Play free can also be highly frustrating. You leave a pali half done since you ran out of time it bugs you for the whole week. If you can make cheese its ensuring its not going to go wrong on you, and so on lol.

Sheep if you can get them are a great free gamer animal to raise... milk, whool well the whole package.

Truly the game gets a lot of good content often, but even if takes you weeks to use it even once. It still burns up quickly for many others.

But what I miss most of all is the dank may mays.

Sounds like it has all the same problems as late last world (including underpopulation), plus money, but with a lick of paint.

The lack of teleportation gutted trading and a significant chunk of inter-village interaction. This has been restored with charterstones, but a lot of people left earlier than usual as a result of that.

Overall I feel the game is a step forward on haven, now that teleport and all is back. But it's not going to "fix" itself without a world reset.

Interactions are actively avoided by many because there's still no incentive not to kill whoever you meet in the wilderness or not to palibash hermitages. The result is a lot of mistrust, lots of empty spaces, and lots of alts.

Trade was made viable only recently, and was made so in a very circuitous way.

There have been attempts to balance pvp and griefing, with updates like the visitor buff for walled areas, revenge ghosts, and some tweaks to claims.

These events have managed to annoy different player groups: pvp'ers, traders, and those here for the social part of the game. Most people I know are waiting for a world reset.

Alts... lots and lots of alts. If you like putting in 3-4 hours a day, be prepared to manage at least 4 accounts. Diversify the accounts, too, so you have a couple of farmers, couple of miners, and at least one forager, even though the foraging isn't as useful now as it ahs been in the past.
