Hello friend!

In celebrate of 2000nd postings, I think we can make thread celebrate the great happening of year 2000. I will list some event for knowing of ages that happens in this year, one of the best years of all!

  • The UK fuel protests take place, with refineries blockaded, and supply to the country's network of petrol stations halted.
  • 300 gallons of black sludge is released into the Mississippi River causing an environmental disaster.
  • California suffers the first of two years of Rolling Blackouts.
  • The UK is hit by one of the worst snow storms in the last 50 years bringing public transport to a halt.
  • Over 5 million acres destroyed by brush fires in Western US; worst in 50 years.
  • Hillary Clinton is elected to the US Senate representing New York.
  • The Dot Com Bubble Bursts and thousands of DotComs go bust.
  • According to NASA the hole in the Ozone layer over Antarctica increased by .62 sq miles to 17 square miles in just 12 months.
  • A destructive computer virus ILOVEYOU spread by e-mail shuts down computers world wide.
  • A fire at the Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel on June 23rd in the town of Childers, in Queensland, Australia leaves 15 backpackers dead.
  • In Aden, Yemen, the USS Cole is badly damaged by two suicide bombers.
  • Concorde Air France Flight 4590 crashes just after takeoff from Paris killing all 109 aboard and 5 on the ground.

Well that just made Slowpoke look like fricking Flash.

I honestly don't remember - without extensive research - anything worth mentioning about year 2000. Well, Putin came to power in Russia, I guess that's something.

Whatever aspect you think is relevant for your making your conclusion on if you like him. As for other question, I can not say I know any dentist personally, but I have no issue with dentist I have interacted with so far.

To answer that, I can't say I have an emotional response to Putin whatsoever. I neither "like" nor "dislike" him.

Must like be strict emotion? Can you not like something for logic reason?

Say there is some man of science who does good contribution to field. I do not know this man personal, and have no emotion connecting to him at all. But I can like this man for what he has done for this field of science. Maybe something like this?

Thread is to discussing great thing happens in year 2000. This is discussion of such a thing, I think. If thread will goes in this direction, I am fine with it. It seems to be related enough.
