Illarion is strictly RP. The engine isn't nearly as developed as HnH last I played, but I like the community and I've had a lot of fun there.

Ryzom has much more limited ability for players to affect the world directly unlike HnH, but there's a lot of RP and politics stuff that's supposed to affect things in game at least some, at least in terms of lore. It doesn't have a large development team it doesn't seem like, but for a certain sort of person that's just another way to participate in creating/shape the world since they accept some player contributions.

Um.... idk, does Second Life count? You can buy and shape property there to your heart's content, and develop social relationships, right?

I don't think there are any noteworthy, which is why I came to haven years ago. Only later did I realize haven doesn't have permanent worlds either.

I recently came across One Hour, One Life, and would hearthily recommend it.

Quite different pace than in Haven, but focuses in both are on base building and crafting.
I also feel the developer of this game to a large degree shares Jorbtars vision of "every action can be seen as PVP at some level" (Paraphrase).

This is not the first mention I've seen of it and heard it's pretty good. I'm definitely going to take it for a spin.

I think some other interesting games: wurm online.
I almost made a rowboat in it once. My character was so bad that I had to make 10 attempts to successfully produce 1 wooden part.

i personally love dwarf fort, terraria and rimworld (iv not played rimworld a ton but i still love it) those not mmo so prob not interested (thou can play terraria online if you try

then theres project zomboid mostly offline and in devlopment and thay are growing thier team latly by alot but iv had a ton of fun on some servers and its prob my fav building game outside dwarf fort and haven and im excited to see what thay do with it

just cause i miss it dearly there use to be an amazing g.p.s. map game on mobile that was amazing parallelkingdom (if you make games remake it plz lol jk)

as for mmo sandbox games that fit thay are rare or dont even compare to haven

iv been waiting to try samutale thou im not sure about it

before i found haven i use to play online miecraft servers it acually plays alot like haven on some of them (mabye even some were inspired by it who knows as theres always new ones poping up but the big ones tend to stay around a longtime)
