Embark, a sweet new game

Everyone should go check out this colony/survival/sandbox game that was recently released on steam. It reminds me haven in some ways but it is single player. Very cool. 25 usd though in alpha.

Yes, like terraria is a rip off of Minecraft. It’s hard to make a game now and not take traits from older games. It’s more of a mix of rim world and Minecraft. I’m pretty sure they even say in description they’re trying to mix Minecraft, rimworld, and dwarf fortress into one game, and they’ve done it well so far.

The price tag is a bit steep to be fair. I tried it and it is fun. The graphics are poor IMHO but that shouldn't get in your way. I got around 20 hours of fun out of it, after that the game got bit repetitive. I would recommend to get it on a sale if you enjoyed RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress.

Looks like Timber & Stone but already much further along.

I'm curious about King Under the Mountain, looks cool visually at least.

We should be able to modify cave walls in Haven, smooth/engrave/reinforce, stuff like that.

How does Embark handle growing colonies with lots of units?
