The guy who bought the game Salem. Prior to buying it he was the leader of the MM tribe, the dominant faction in every Salem world (as far as I know). He made hermits pay taxes in exchange for protection. They had to sign this larpy treaty: http://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3163

The first topic (EDIT: not the first link, first of the two latter) is interesting, the very least for the fact that one of the main problems back in 2013 Salem seems to have been food system and people still aren't happy with the food system in 2019 Haven. Also worth noting their reasoning why Salem was beta and Haven (still is) alpha. Supposedly they were happy with the core stuff on Salem and weren't going to make drastic changes to it while they kept that as an option for Haven. Switch to 3D and changing how food fills you up and adding satiation system was quite drastic but they still maintain that Haven is Alpha. So unless jorbtar says something otherwise I'm going to assume that if they get an idea to completely change the game, in a way that they think will make it better, they will probably do it. However as a counterpoint, they've have had to rollback at least 3 more or less major changes which may curb their enthusiasm.

Not a clue. I think they were seasonal servers though, so they're probably gone?

I played tons of Salem and I never even heard of this guy.

those servers are for expeditions, a temporary mechanic
