some rich player should hire a team of 100 indian devs and make a Haven client from scratch, preferably in a web/mobile/tablet friendly environment, so we can play this glorious game from all devices and at low hardware requirements

I remember discussing this at some point. The game could be played via the minimap and some menus.

Pretty sure the idea infuriates the devs.

Why should they? They're probably only making a few hundred dollars a month. Why give $50 that they already need for their beer fund?

But why would you want to make a client that is even worse than the current one?

Making a client that you can use even with low end hardware is not that difficult if loftar wouldn't have his stupid res file system. (Res files contain code sometimes, which makes things difficult)
During beginning of this world I made a command line client that you could run with basically a smart toothbrush or something. I was able to fully automate farming, and it farmed all my fields for months, until the seasons came and changed things, but if I remember correctly, the res files containing code was the point where I decided to give up, because one would have to reverse engineer all of them to access many basic features of the game or something like that.

Already at it. Might drop some alpha-as-fuck demos later when i figure out how textures work in haven.

- A few base textures andd ui elements.

Not working:
- object rotation
- 2764 other things :lol:

Good luck on your project. There have been way too many unsuccessful attempts so far.
Loftar should seriously consider making at least all resource files open source as well.
