The food scraps consists of egg shells and some vegetable scraps. I will try to dig up some food scrap remains next time to show you. I feel no shame.
I use the compost as mulch on my vegetable patch and on some flowers.

Those are valid points. I only add scraps I have washed before consumption, so I assumed if I can eat it, so can the worms, bacteria etc.
Whan talking about native species I was talking about the worms I added, but I did not think of potential soil on store bought vegetables.

Since little is happening in the game these days, here is an update on my composting progress:

A worm. There are many like this in the compost. Probably Eisenia fetida.

Nothing special in the compost itself. Adding toilet rolls (just the cardboard part) and eggshells.
