Or it could just be adjusted to have it work against aggressive horse activity but not instantly make anyone on a horse a sitting duck (complete with loss of horse) once a ganker appears on-screen. For example, Axus suggested elsewhere to just have the horse flee with the rider still on it. You could have it run around randomly for long enough to break combat, then prevent anyone on that horse from initiating combat for a while (bound to the horse; the rider can get off to enter combat, but cannot remount while in combat). Would make them useless in PvP, but you'd be able to get away if someone used Raw Hide on you.

thats the beautifull thing, if they steal your horse you can rawhide them, if i meet an stranger on horseback in the wild i remain calm, either they arent out for an fight, or bad enough at it that i might take them down, either ways, rawhide dosnt go for the full viewdistance, just dont get close too strangers in the forrest. you got an horse, you can break line of sight easily,

btw if you realy want mounted combat, just wait till winter, then we can all witness how fun skiing and sleging is for 1 to 3 days, between the snowcover taking to fall and it thawing again.

Must admit it seems you are living in the roaming zone of active and aggressive village, and the blanket that pulled to the side of pvpbois to have raw hide almost free (sure why not, why can't you have ultimate skill that stuns everyone cost nothing and has no cooldown) is not a real problem here, but the fact that it's not safe to forage, hunt etc. in your lands.

raw hide needs to be in the state that it is in or you'll get railroaded by dudes on horses

Skill issue. Just immediately dismount and start running other way. With one screen handicap you will escape after 2 speed boosts. Game is casual enough nowadays.

The attackers sprint against you almost faster then your horse can go ( nice thing with cart pulling in forest). You have no chance to escape, becouse when you start trevel your heartfire they can attack you, and your horse will be in rage too.

Hear unknown player alarm, speed 4, ride opposite direction, hearth home after creating some space.
It sounds like you weren't paying attention or panic hearthed too early.
