stupid (?) dragonflies

So I tried to catch some dragonflies without success and I've spent a fair amount of time :p
Just one time my char started to move and try to catch one but obviously I get stuck to a trunk
I have absolutely no idea why suddenly my char started moving into its direction and following it tho ...
any tip ?

When you right click on a dragonfly you automatically follow it to catch it. Basically for the time being until we have guide-lines, actual lines, showing us where they will be you're going to have to eyeball it before following it.

Just click elsewhere to stop following it if you don't catch it. You'll be fine.

the dragonfly itself right ? not the shade ?
Do I need to be relatively close to it ?

You need to be able to walk directly into it. Just like catching a rabbit.

Best to simply use the mini-map to right click on them when you hunt them.

oh the minimap works ? perfect , thx a lot
