How do I use the crucible ?

I tried putting blocks of wood, sticks. IDK how to get this thing started. I obviously have to use something because when I try to make something it says that I need to use a crucible, and I am clicking on it properly. Its not lit though, and I can't remember what it needs grrr...

You need coal, which is created by tar kilns after they finish burning completely (Or so I've been told)

The tar kilns create tar though. I used 1 block of wood for my tar kiln, and its been going for over a day now :/ no coal.

I'm waiting on mine to finish as well, but according to them the wood pile in the middle of the tar kiln will become a coal deposit after it finishes burning.

they certainly make coal. I just got 2 coal from mine. and not sure if its a bug but you can put like 40+ logs in at once o.O
maybe it will take a year to burn lol

How long time did it take for you to get coal from yours? Could you upload pic too?

Also: in the tar kiln that produced coal for you, how many blocks did you put in it?

I've put a single block in mine. It burned after few hours, maybe three.
