I have a spruce tree that's a week old and is now the height of a wall which is less than one tile from the wall. However, I have a mulberry planted on dirt in an active walkway that is the same age and has only progressed a single stage in that time.
I have no idea why the mulberry is so hilariously slow, but walls definitely aren't causing my spruce any issues.

permanently stunted or temporarily slowed? from what, random decay hits? does hitbox/spacing matter at all anymore?
