Items players throw into waters can wash up onto shore anywhere in world. You can also fish this items up some time.

Wait so said items show up as items on your minimap, and can be picked like taproot? Cause I just got a quality 121 132 109 arrow for free.

Right. After you get high enough perception/exploration stat you can see some ''beach trash'' pickable item just like taproot or other plants. All items you get from this one are item that other actual players drop into water somewhere in the world. These item qualities and such are not limited by you stat, you just get them as they were when discarded. Rarely you can get some good item. I have once seen player run some event using these mechanic to give out prize to players.

I always check those when I see, it is like an in game kinder egg
So far the most useful things were: a waterflsk, a waterskin, a few arrows of q better than I was able to produce and dead rabbits/squirrels. No q300 carrots or merchant robes yet
