I am talking from my experience so it not might be the best way but it works for me.
Usually, when I spawn a big pack, first I do is to start running away to lose the slow ones if there are any.
When I lose the aggro on slow ones, I just turn and fight rest of them. After they take some damage , they dive down, so you can use that to move away from them ( They de-aggro by diving under).
Repeat until you have just one worm on you.
One boreworms should be easy pickings at that point. And if its a good Q node, just kill the rest of them :D
I use exclusively Uppercut/ Full circle combo. Mostly because Uppercut does not deal any damage on its own, so I can fight slimes without actually spliting them to often. I cannot one tap slimes on l9 like this, but at worst I get them to split only once, which is good.
Downside is that it's not to fast to clear packs like this, but yeah, you'll spawn a fucktone of slimmes /boreworms by just mining like this.
When mining, always try to have a straight way back, because if you are mining like an autist and pop boreworms, they will spawn around you in available tiles. Which means you are FUCKED.

Thanks for this. So uppercut for openings and then full circle on slimes to finish? When you say a straight way back, do you mean you only mine in one tile wide tunnels? Clearing an area is suicide?

Yeah, that's how I handle them. This ís the advice I got from an experienced player from the village and it works like a charm.
Nah, you can clear a large area, , what I meant is to have space behind yourself so you can reposition. Like, if you mine really bad, you can get stuck when enemies spawn around you. And even if its slimes( they spawn on a single tile), they can spread out and circle you. At that point you are fucked.
If that happens, have some aoe shit on deck, because you will be forced to fight them or K.O. :D
Happened to me couple times till I figured out what to do and how to dig.
Lets say you found a node of gold, and you want to mine every last bit of it. Don't go haphazardly mining random tiles doing random shit. Depending on the direction of where the node is spread you should mine something like :
Tunnel should be parallel to each other and look like "MUUMUUMUUMUUMUUM" and so on. Where "M" stands for Mined, and "U" stands for Unmined. You want a long tunnel and then when you see that there is no more ore just walk back, skip 2 tiles and mine the same direction parallel to the previous tunnel.
Reasoning for that is that you will see EVERY SINGLE ore tile spawned, and if enemies spawn they will always spawn infront of you leaving you with a clear way back.
Do not forget to chip boulders, you do not want to have a boulder blocking your way when you spawn a 12 slime pack :D
Again, this is how I do it, you do how it suits you best.
