Str required for wine glance?

I'm kinda at a loss, maybe i just have a very bad location but I've mined to 3 different wine glance deposits and they are too hard or very hard to me at 90 str and kinda maxed out stone axe at 28.9q. Am I doing something wrong or just bad rng and I should tunnel further away from my location?

Your Axe q is very low. This affect greatly your mining ability.
Second, hardness nodes are a thing of their own, you got unlucky.
Third, if you can, craft (mold) tinkers Axe as it has higher mining ability than stone. The higher Q the better ofc.
To keep up with hardness you'll need to start planting trees for higher Q branches, splitting blocks with top Axe is the way.

oh damn, didnt know a 'throwing axe' was ok for mining -.- thanks. and yeah my axe is kinda low q but havent found a 41+q stone yet, but the axe tip should help

It is just RNG. I was not able to dig some L2 wine glance until I got 100 str and 40q axe. Now I have got 110 and q45 stone axe/q32 pickaxe - and not able to dig another wine glance nodes at the same level.
