Any tricks to getting a female? So far I've gotten 7 males and 0 females.

Every other animal Cows/Pigs/Sheep/Horses I was able to get a pair quite easily.

You can try pulling out your credit card and wave it in the air

Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

Have you taken them all from same general area?

There's speculation that specific areas spawn animals that will only tame into one sex.

That would be silly in many aspects but it would explain people repeatedly getting males, if they're only getting animals from closest convenient spot.

Just assuming every animal is randomly male or female with 50% chance, getting the first 7 of the same gender is rare but not that rare. You'd expect it to happen 1 out of every 64 times. Since we're all taming 5 species, getting the first 7 of the same gender for some species should happen to about 1 in every 12 players.

7 of the same gender is 1 out of every (2 power 7) times = 1 out of 128 :) Which seems quite low :)

Got six stallions already :) No mares :)

the first one is assumed not to count. We are not asking whether we can tame 7 males in a row, just 7 of the same gender. So the first one is irrelevant. His statistics knowledge seems solid.
