Finding a spot to settle

Postby cuinhel » Mon Apr 07, 2025 8:45 pm

Hello everyone,

I didnt play for a while and am starting again.
It looks like there are claims everywhere where I spawned. Or remains of people living there. How do I find a place to settle thats less inhabited? What should i look out for when starting to settle?

In the past i also had this issue, then i took one of those whirlpools, but i think they are not in the game anymore?

Kind regards,

cuinhel

They're still in the game. Here is the game map https://map.hearthworld.com/ ; Here is a thread of big willage locations. https://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=76693 Settle near a swamp, fresh water, salt water, and a mountain.

Don't settle on the coast, don't settle too close to a thingwall or vortex; too much traffic around those and everyone will see you. Get far enough away that none of those and your claim are visible on the same map screen then build roads to them. And spawning is weighted towards the center of the map, so the farther from there you are the less chance of other folks settling around you.

At this stage there are many abandoned farms/villages; there are three, maybe four, active claims within easy travel of me, at least a dozen abandoned and in various states of decay ...and a couple I'm not sure about, lol.
