Is there a way to hide the quest tracker UI?

The 'Beginning of..' quests can't be abandoned and I currently have 8 of them - they are particularly egregious as they've often a long checklist.
I want to make my own quests, take screenshots and click the left edge of the screen, not rerun the tutorial with every new character I make.

Hide UI helps but doesn't eliminate the problem.

I'm talking about this, about 1/4 the left side of my screen, sometimes wider than the minimap;

Yes, in the quest page in your character sheet, if you look at your quests the one that is showing in UI should be selected/highlighted, if you click on the current active quests name in the scroll menu it should hide the quest.

No problem, I have definitely accidentally click on the quest UI while running from an animal and my next movement hit the abandoned button, it sucked!!!

You can use a custom client like Amber or Purus Pasta to fully remove or customize it.
