Howdy.
You're either here because you don't understand something about the payment model or because you need it explained further. I'll try and help with that to what I've gather with others. Now lets get down to business as usual.
Consulting Statement:
NO CONTENT IS LOCKED BEHIND A PAYWALL
All content is available to all players no matter their account type. This will remain true for all accounts unless there is a change to it in the future. Remember this when reading this guide at all times.
I. What is "The Hearth Shoppe"?
The Hearth Shoppe is a way for the Haven & Hearth development team, Jorb & Loftar, to obtain funds from their game through us players. It is done in the form of in-game-tokens (That grant "game-time" to any player that uses it in the game.), a subscription (That allows for unlimited play-time in-game per month for the account that bought it.), & cosmetic items in the form of hats. Why hats? Because hats are love. Hats are life. Hats do nothing but to boost politics because of "muh hat is godly". That is why we have cosmetics as hats.
II. What is the difference between gametime & a subscription?
The main difference between the two is how they are handled. With gametime tokens you can manually active in-game tokens to your account giving you X amount of hours. For instance I can have one month of gametime tokens for $15 or have a one month subscription for $10. The subscription is cheaper as it is directly applied to your account; whereas the gametime tokens are slightly more expensive as you can use them in game for yourself or to give to other players. Tokens allow you to trade or gift them to any other player while subscriptions allow you to directly have unlimited play time for a month.
II. What is a verified account?
A verified account is an account that paid $15 to be given permanent perks to itself. These perks are an immediate additional 24 hours of gametime added to that account, a boost to 14 hours of gametime refilled weekly for that account (Compared to the 12 hours filled monthly for a non-verified account.), a free in game hat (muh hat! <-- Politics.), & unlimited access to legacy Haven & Hearth (2D Haven & Hearth before the August 28th, 2015 patch.).
You can only verify your account through this; nothing else but this can verify your account.
III. What are the bronze, silver, & gold subscription packages?
Why, that is a wonderful question. Surprisingly a very easy question to answer as well. The bronze, silver, & gold subscription packages are quite simply a basic monthly subscriptions with additional money attached to them if one would like to donate more than is required to help support the developers. They also comes with their own hats. Because hats are amazing.
Bronze Tier
Quite simply the base monthly payment. No extra money added and will be slightly reduced if you buy more than one month in the form of a package.
For 30 days (1 month) you pay: $10.00
For 90 days (3 months) you pay: $27.00 ($9.00 per month.)
For 180 days (6 months) you pay: $48.00 ($8.00 per month.)
For 365 days (1 year) you pay: $72.00 ($6.00 per month.)
Silver Tier
This is the base payment with a little additional money added so you may help support the developers more than usual.
For 30 days (1 month) you pay: $20.00
For 90 days (3 months) you pay: $51.00 ($17.00 per month.)
For 180 days (6 months) you pay: $90.00 ($15.00 per month.)
For 365 days (1 year) you pay: $144.00 ($12.00 per month.)
Gold Tier
This is the base payment with the maximum amount added so you may help support the developers at kike level; shekels for everyone. Jorb & Loftar will give you Cthulhu's blessing most certainly.
For 30 days (1 month) you pay: $50.00
For 90 days (3 months) you pay: $120.00 ($40.00 per month.)
For 180 days (6 months) you pay: $180.00 ($30.00 per month.)
For 365 days (1 year) you pay: $300.00 ($25.00 per month.)
Why should you go beyond the bronze level, or do any of this at all? Well, if you have some money to spare it could really help Jorb & Loftar. They've given us this amazing game for free since 2009 and to a many of us that has provided months of entertainment. Alternatively you don't have to and that is fine as well. In the end we all still get to play our favorite game.
How does a Game Time token work?
Game time works as a one time usable item. Upon purchasing the game time & logging into the game you can obtain it from your hearth fire by right clicking the fire. This will bring up a screen where store bought goods are stored and only you can access them. The game time is a single use item in the shape of an hourglass that will be representative of the time it gives. For instance a one month game time item will give that character a one month subscription. The item itself can be traded to other players as well. Once in your inventory anyone can take it the same as any other item. There are no refunds if you lose the item.
How does the weekly time refill work?
At midnight UTC each Monday, players with less than 7 or 14 hours, depending on if the account is free or has been verified, will be refilled back up to 7 or 14 hours. In order to receive these hours, one must log into the game. If the account has been played to empty, you will be denied a log in, but the added free time gets triggered and you can log right back in. Note that this is a refill, not an additional amount of time. You cannot have more than 7 or 14 hours after the first 48 free hours have been played through unless you receive extra time with a purchase, such as by verifying your account. Currently there is no other way to get extra hours, though requests have been made by some players to add this feature in. mod edit --MagicManICT
Any more questions? Feel free to ask them here. I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
See something wrong? Publicly shame me for not knowing everything & include what I either fucked up on or left out.
Give them your shekels. All of your shekels. They deserve these shekels more than us for once. :3
