Postby BangPow » Thu Sep 03, 2015 8:57 am

Was hoping someone could tell me how taming works with the new mechanics.

Haven't tamed animals yet, but can make some guesses based on Animal Husbandry description:
  1. Build hitching post and make yourself a rope
  2. Feed animal clover
  3. Leash it with a rope and bring it to hitching post and leash to it
  4. wait for animal to aggro you
  5. beat it in combat eanough so it will try to yield - near its combat portrait there will be olive branch instead of a sword
  6. yield yourself - press circle bvutton near animal combat portrait
  7. repeat 4-6 until animal is tamed
Not sure if it will become tamed automatically, or it may be that one of the attack cards you'll receive will be Quell The beast and you'll need to use it.

Question here - when animal agro you - will it leave rope radius, or you can safely stack IP or use defenses from afar and then come to punch it, retreat/repeat?

Now that I've died a second time might be a rather good time to test some taming mechanics, with a full HHP bar. Once I get sorted I'll let you know what I find out.

Nope. Once you attack it, it seems to break the tether. Either that, or I was doing it wrong (which is a strong possibility).

Pro tip. Click the yeld button yourself right after agroing it. It will auto finish taming sessions when it gets enough damage unless you overkill in which case it's well killed. Cows seem to have 250 hp and sheep maybe 150.
