Question about hunger levels

Postby LaserSaysPew » Fri Sep 04, 2015 12:45 pm

I understand that they decrease over real time. The question is do different hunger levels decrease at the same speed? Will it take the same time to lose 100% of stuffed level as 100% of content level?

Each higher level will decrease faster, 25% goes down a lot faster than 300%.

Which is why the people who think they are being efficient by trying to hover at 300% or 200% are doing it wrong.

actually some of the higher tier recipies benefit from this greatly, because maybe you don't have an abundance of ingredients and you can only make so much? x)
meaning that you'd want to get as much out of it as possible i.e 300%,200%. especially with food that increases psyche

Its a good point. Think of it as a mini-game you have to play. It's not too hard to wait out the drop into 200%. I'm not sure I'd want to wait out to 300% because you could have gotten a lot more food in that amount of time. Nothing I've seen is that rare or hard to acquire (cave bulbs, maybe, if they've been reimplemented, or eels).

They exist. Most active players will bob between 90% and 50% I'd bet. It seems to be roughly optimal effort per output for 6-8 hours a day. 200% for people playing less probably.

Necroing this thread to ask: has anyone studied exactly how long it takes for hunger to drain at various hunger levels? Is the change in hunger drain linear? exponential? I'm asking because I want to know exactly what point the costs outweight the gains of just eating and making more food instead of waiting to feast.

The hungrier you are (bigger the FEP bonus), the slower it drains out. From what I can tell, it's consistent across a level, and I believe it was posted that at max satiation, you get hungrier by about 1% per minute or so, at lowest (300% bonus), it takes several days for the bar to completely drain.

loftar said it takes like, 9 days to get through the lowest level (300%), and some amount of time I forgot for the highest one. I think it was in IRC too so I can't seek a quote. :(
