Brick Quality question

Postby bojackson » Wed Sep 09, 2015 9:46 am

so i made some 21 ql bricks and made smelters but the stuff comes out 10 quality still. Do brick ql not matter when building? wondering about ovens now too (haven't built them yet).

I'm trying to get better quality metal ofc and also better quality stone for axe for butchering mainly.

Will investigate that, actually. Thanks.

Yesterday I have built a smelter using quality bricks. Smelted metal also had some quality, with ql10 coal and ore.
I wonder - was every brick you used ql21? Maybe there was one brick with ql 10?

Hmm I'm pretty sure they were all 21 ql bricks. I built it myself (wasn't a friend putting random stuff in or anything). I built 2 smelters like this.

Is it maybe a skill thing or stat thing capping somehow?

Q19 smelter = Q12 metal with Q10 coal/ore. Stones are coming out Q10, but I assumed that's intentional now for the new stone progression.

Side note: Tar Kilns are supposed to have no quality right? I made like.... Q17 kiln give or take depending on the formula and it has no influence on charcoal.

thanks for reply sevenless, so we are stuck with ql 10 stone for a while eh? Until lv 2 mine layer i guess? Or if we get lucky with lv 1 mine layer quality stone/ore.

Those nodes exist, but are pretty rare from what I can see. Otherwise that's how I understand the system to work currently.

Were you referring to the stone Q, OP? Testing can't reproduce your problem. Metal comes out affected by smelter qualities as intended.
