why?

i would argue that you receive penalties for having a hand full while in combat, or setting your hair on fire by accident.

If anything, you could argue that if they attacked you, you could use the torch to scare them away. Unless you intend to ignite them, a torch would be an awkward thing to handle while trying to swing your other arm about in a dangerous fashion.

I would like it if the torch had attacks of its own.

On that vein, what about other tools?
I feel a hammer would do great against unarmored opponents.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.

A ball of fire on the end of a stick is a good secondary weapon, and not so challenging to use with a bit of familiarity. It visually impairs the opponent, not just blinding but also hard to see past. This would allow primary weapon to make hidden attacks. It resolves situations where you lock weapons, prevents grappling and can always be used simply as a stick, which is a basic weapon anyway.
It goes out quickly in a fight though.

Isnt it the opposite, though?
Blunt weapons work best against armoured opponents. Most metal armors couldn't be sliced or pierces by swords, so they were simply bashed in, crushing whoever is inside that armor, or atleast severly limiting his mobility by denting it inwards real good.

You are partially correct. Against rigid armors such as full plates, it would do greater damage. However, the armors I can craft are leather, the cutthroat cuirass, and chainmail, all of which are great at absorbing impacts, spreading the applied force and minimizing damage from a blunt weapon.
I have yet to see if there is such a thing as full plate armor and so I'm just working off of the knowledge I currently possess.

I would guess this goes the other way around too, but at least one would have the ability to adjust the location of the lightsource to the own liking.
