Deep artifice?

Okay, so ive done a fair bit of mining. 30 steel, 45 wrought iron and countless castiron without the deep artifice skill. My average iron ochre smelter was about 2-3 bars per smelter and blooms seems to be 4/9 getting wrought iron.

I have now purchased the deep artifice skill and ive smelted 100 ore and produced 0 cast iron bars. I burned the cast iron I had saved before getting deep artifice and got 0/9 wrought iron.

Ive talked with a few other villages and they have also made notes that deep artifice is not worth the lp.
What have you guys noted on the subject?

we noticed no real difference too, whereas the difference in tree planting from druidic rite for me was huge.

I dunno, maybe it's bugged, either way it sucks for 150K, though of course you do need it to make the druid cape :p

my village's miner also just bought deep artifice a couple of days ago and was very disappointed.

I've been saving up for deep artifice, is it broken or what? I could spend that 150k elsewhere if it just hinders my RNG.

Am I the only one seeing boost in my wrought production with deep arti?

Made 14 or 16 steel + lots of wrought for bw without the skill. I would say that my average bloom to wrought would be around 33% back then.
With the skill bought I made 20 steel and some spare wrought. I think that turning cast into wrought have like 66% chance for me now.

From what I understood the skill only gives you boost in obtaining ore while mining and while turning bloom into wrought.
Smelting and ammount of bloom we get shouldn't be affected? (at least I didn't see any change in the ammount of bloom I get with the skill. If something I would say it was a bit lower. But I'm just blaming RNG )

This is basically a bad meme. DA is working properly. When you mine the ore, its "chance to turn into a bar" is decided. When you hit the bloom on the anvil, its "chance to become wrought" is determined. The guy who is doing these things need the DA for it to work. You can't smelt ore that a sprucecap has mined and expect it to be good. Come back once you have DA, mined 2000 ore, smelted it and turned it into wrought entirely by yourself and post your success rate.

This. YOU the person with Deep Artifice need to mine the ore yourself, smelt it yourself, put it in the finery forge yourself and then hammer the bloom into wrought yourself.

I noticed a huge increase in how much bars I was getting as soon as I did got Deep Artifice.

wrought iron: about 40% chance before to 60% chance after. significant increase in iron bars as well but i did not keep track of the exact numbers.

In my experience making wrought iron, about 50% of bloom turned to wrought with Deep Artifice, and only around 33% without.

Cast iron turning to bloom was approximately 50% in both cases.


I didn't keep track of ore smelting, however.

maybe we should put our numbers on here, so we can add them all up and get a better estimate.

before: 40 bloom = 17 wrought
after: 53 bloom = 33 wrought
