How strong the troll on level 2 is?

afaik there are no trolls on level 1.
I'm about to mine on level 2. I play only the main character.
How many unarmed combat & what armor are needed to be able at least survive the troll, and get self out of there?

There are trolls on lvl 1. "Barely as strong as a bear", according to my mate who actually killed one of those.
I've encountered a troll myself on lvl3. It hits for less than 150 damage with normal attack, and for 350+ damage with IP attack; couldn't make a conclusive enough approximation for attributes, though.

Maybe get like 300 armor class, 100 - 200 agi and 100 - 200 ua / mc and try, should be enough for l2 troll i think, but didnt find any on level 2 yet so i might be wrong.
The other way is to use 1mm alts with bows but if you are sure you play on main only then this way probably wont be the one u use.

Remember, that, if you're mining while mounted, your horse will drop you down and flee away if you dig up a troll, which diminishes your chances of survival to virtually none. You won't be able to react and flee in time, while the troll flexes and takes few additional seconds to aggro and attack you.

I think the horse only drops you when you are in aggro with the troll, but yeah everything else is correct.

according to wiki page http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Plate_Armor Plate armor now provides with 18/8 armor class (150/75 was in legacy).
Therefore its impossible to have 300 armor class, right?

If you're wearing triple digits full steel armor, decend boots/badger vest/vapntrewhatever that's called etc., your summary (deflection+absorption) will be likely around 400.

It is possible. There are other armors than plate armor as well

When I said "triple digits" I meant 100+ quality. But steel gauntlets+legguards+plate would be really hard to achieve early. As for additional armored equipment (boots, cape, helmet, vest), they don't give much each, but they add up. Also hard to achieve in higher qualities before you have access to high-q strings etc.

If you're just starting digging on lvl2, your best bet is to run from spawned troll and try to kill him with bows/disposable alts or call someone to help you. Without q60+ steel gear you won't probably be able to defend from a troll's attack head-on, and with that gear you will most likely have literally 1 agility.

Again, I'm speculating on a very scarse information I have from experience since Wiki doesn't seem to be reliable in these matters anymore.
