Abundance of Mandrakes?

So my whole village apparently hasn't been on for over a month except me, according to another player. I've been hermitting in the village and found a bunch of mandrakes today. Someone mentioned maybe the six (!) mandrakes I've found without finding any crime scents are because of the quitters? What's going on here? Am I just not looking hard enough for scents? Did someone already take all the smells away?

Scents can't be taken away and most likely (as far as we know) are irrelevant to Mandrake spawns.

Maybe you just came along the right place at the right time...

Yeah, I guess I just have incredible luck. Even found a Spirited Mandrake today.

Hey, me too. I found 4 mandrakes in a single day while rowboatting trough the map.

Mandrake is root of death I think. Maybe large battle was waged in world for this day?

What do you mean? Like higher per*exp on my main char? Because i've got plenty.

A character with pretty low stats can see mandrake roots.
