Tower material count please

Postby Shyruban » Wed Sep 14, 2016 10:14 pm

Hi
Anyone has a link for the material count for stone tower please?
I found a post that shows the different parts but it does not state how many of each stone, blocks etc for each.
Thanx

Primary 1135
Secondary 575
Tertiary 290

From Wiki for Great Hall

For instance, if you build a mansion out of 130 pieces of gneiss, 70 pieces of granite, and 50 pieces of basalt, then gneiss will be used for the first stone material, granite for the second, and basalt for the third. This is because granite was used at least half as much as gneiss, and basalt was used at least half as much as granite (though less than half as much as gneiss, but that is not a problem).

On the other hand, if you build it from 150 pieces of gneiss, 75 pieces of granite, and 25 pieces of basalt, then then gneiss will be used for the first stone material, but granite for both the second and third, because while granite was used at least (in this case, precisely) half as much as gneiss and is thus valid, basalt was used less than half as much as granite, and is thus not valid, so only gneiss and granite are considered.

General rule: following is more than 50% of the leading material and you're good.

I thought it was like a precise number for every part of the building.

You can come up with your own material mix, as long as the visible materials follow the rule you can variate their amount (you can even add other types as fillers).

Just to clarify that part:
Let's say you want to build malachite-basalt-marble tower. It will cost you 1000 malachite, 600 basalt and 400 marble. But if you have a lack of those mats you can put 200 marble, 300 basalt and 400 malachite and fill other 1100 stone with 11 other stone types, following the rule to not put more than 199 of each type. (numbers are not min-maxed and was rounded for better understanding - I assume you can even min them to 9-5-3, and 1 of 1983 other stone types (theoretically, if we had those many)).
P.S. Make it more complex instead of clarifying?

I did exactly this
1135 basalt
575 black ore
290 horned silver
all this work for nothing, damn tower turned up all basalt, I'm sure it would have been cool now i got this ugly grey thing.
It really is for nothing, this was supposed to be part of a mostly decorative scene, i teraformed a pretty high up hill\pyramid with a climbing road around it, it's very big, road is all black ore, rest of it was going to be other stuff and some puplar tress, as not much leaves, was working on some sort of creepy halloween thing, now it's ruined.

Basalt is black. Even if you put more than needed of it (1151 would be enough for 575 black ore) or put less black ore (even 566 won't be enough) - you'll get absolute basalt tower. And it should be black, not grey.
