Knarr owner's manual

Postby shadyg0d » Tue Dec 06, 2016 12:01 am

I am about to build my Knarr tonight. I will load it up with all my belongings and embark on the greatest adventure of my lifetime, in search of new horizons...

Is there anything I need to know before hand? I don't wanna have to build this damn thing again, and I sure as hell don't want to lose everything inside it.

Put a lock and key on it, the most people can do is look inside (as far as I have tried) they cannot move it or anything past looking. So lock it.

The lock only stops people from moving the boat, they can still access the cargo no problem. Knarrs have too much soak to be destroyed by hand, so most people don't bother destroying them. The bigger danger is someone trying to murder you and take the key.

Sometimes if there isn't a river going where you want, you can build a road between two bodies of water and travel with the knarr along it. Just be sure the pointer on the other side is a tile of water.

Well, good luck on your adventures, don't die, etc.

So they can only look inside the cargo without the key, but not take anything? Can somebody else confirm?

Also the image sketch is not necessary to build and can be added later right?

the image cannot be added later. Lock it up so no one that doesnt have a key can drive it or take things.

i dont think you can even look in it as well.

Ran into a slight issue. The image I am testing says 0% black and 0% purple when I upload it, but when I craft it it wants me to have black and purple pigment :x

The lock and key only prevents people from driving it. Anyone can take the stuff out of your cargo or be a passenger.

Really? That seems like a poor choice to me. Now I can't see many reasons to justify building one if that risk is there.
