World 10 preparations.

So since we have all of 5 days left until the new world I pretty much abandoned my main to get back to basics and started a testing alt. The goal is to get to the point I can build a decent camp with pali walls asap. This way I have some protection before most people get a chance to buy CA skills.

I got to the point I could build a boat in about 1-2 hours using what the game gives but I know im missing something.
I plan to be Verified and have a sub at W10 start so that'll speed things up a tad. I mainly at first work on Perc and getting survival up with a dash of intelligence for a few more curios hopefully. I kept killing the alt if he wasn't withing walking distance to a swamp. Finding chickens was a boon.

I basically get fishing asap. Use dragon flies for bait while studying them. Cone cows. Mirkwoods. Hope for a ruby dragon fly. Discover everything. Eat Perc berries asap. Hoping to get to a point I can see boletes quickly and study/eat those as well. Gild for survival as well.

Just want to know if I am missing anything I should be doing. For some reason the client shows crafting everything my main knows but of course wont let my alt do it until he has the skills/discovseries so pinpointing everything get a bit tricky.

so other then my plans hows everyone else treating the restart? Gonna travel the world scoping out the resource nodes? How about start and stay right where you are? Whose going to spend weeks looking for the perfect place?

Set up place where you spawn asap. Then get yeomanry and stuff so you can get your stuff safe. Then when you are ready, find a place for your final settlement.

Well, just remember that getting leather takes at least 1 day and some people (though not most) will get CA skills way before then because quests exists.
So if security is really your primary goal I would recommend to not bother with perception/fishing/whatever, it all can be done later. The first thing to do would be to get leather processing asap. So catch 10 rabbits, find some unassuming cave enrtance far from water and set skins to dry way inside the cavern, hoping that no one will find them there. After that set up tubs similarly hidden.

And do not put all your eggs in one basket: several places with drying racks will increase the probability of success.

Never stay at your initial claim point. It's a early game necessity, and so it'll often be convenient for early game stuff and not necessarily late. Usually prep the mats to go straight into pali walling your second and more permanent home.

I guess ants are a pain now(?) but they made good early game spam back in my day anyway.

Thing I overlooked the most was spamming quests. I think thats gonna be the key to the quickest development. 10 leather will be tough but I think with LP, XP, and chance at random items spamming quests first thing will top just about anything that can be done to prep besides getting perc up for mats and getting UA up to kill animals for hides.

Yea quests are going to make w10 nuts. one quest gave me 4k LP for a 5 min walk. And i got a gift box of curios and food as well...I know gift boxes will be stopped soon.

Being new to this (started about 2 weeks ago), what will the first day of the new world look like? Where will people spawn? How far or how close from eachother?

We won't know till devs announce the size of the map, but expect to run into quite a few naked vikings regardless.

It's pretty nice though, people don't insta-port away whenever they see anyone.

It will also be nice cause you can't even attack people without the skills bought first. So for the first few hours you know you are basically safe. And even if someone does attack you their stats won't be that great so you stand a good chance of getting away or actually defending yourself for once.

So for a while everything will be open. No Pclaims. No Vclaims. Nothing. The world will be free for all of maybe an hour or 2. Then with quest spamming (honestly think there should be a cool down on it now) and curios etc within 1-4 days things will REALLY get interesting. I expect to see early wars as people race to claim high Q resource nodes or just try to establish themselves.

This is honestly the first time ever I will be playing at world start. And the thrill of it has me even wanting to spend the 30$ when I get paid to give myself the best chance. I may even go full blown with a village this time and try to wrangle a few more people. Or I may just hermit myself again and see what happens. I got through most of W9 without losing my main and I want to keep that record going.

I mostly have a plan of action ready to go. I just won't start recruiting until I know what I have and what I can do. I don't want to promise all the riches in the world to only have pennies coming in. This world my plan is to make something as memorable as Sevilla. This will be the world I hopefully make my mark in HnH.
