Fishing wtf...?

Ok so in the beginning of this world when i had really low survival (still do but it is slightly higher now) and shitty fishing gear i caught loads of fish.
Now with better survival and better fishing gear i lose some 70% of my bait.
Not really sure if this is intended or not.

Also BOO for not allowing leeches as bait all that running in swamps for nothing. :'(

Use fishing buff.

5 times I went fishing with 11 entrails each try.

3 out of 5 times, half or more of my bait was lost.
2 out of 5 times, I came back with nearly full backpack.



It is just how RNG works mate.

I'm still trying to figure out the current fishing. I was able to catch anything I wanted in legacy (as long as I was willing to wait for the proper time). I think time of day/moon phase/location (deep/shallow, lake/river) still have some factor, but "nodes" have a factor, too. Nothing I can confirm, nothing I can prove wrong, though, so it's all a very loose hypothesis.

Anyway, from what I can tell, you may be using the wrong bait, wrong location, wrong time of day. Try a different bait, try a different location. Move a minimap or two over until you can find a spot you're not losing bait.

You can lose bait/hooks/line even when you can't actually catch anything. I found out this morning when I had fishing magic up. I lost a bunch of stuff and caught nothing because I was fishing with entrails instead of worms. ( I was definitely within a fishing node.)

Different fish types are on nodes of their own from what I can see. I catch one thing out of one lake, I move over a bit (the next lake down the river) and can get different fish. Like I said, I've been trying to figure this system out. I've found if I have one bait type, I can usually find some spot where I can catch something, even if it's not what I wanted.

I have noticed at least this world, a few spots if you do not have the right bait, you cant fish one bit. But idk, I am just glad we have a few more things that can use any fish.

I still find it strange that I have a lot less luck now than a week ago.

Yesterday i went fishing for the first time - 1 hour from crafting needed stuff for it (why the heck can i attach a bonehook and entrails when i'm missing the fishing line ?!? realized when i clicked fishing .... )to resulting in 3 broken hooks with gone entrails and amazing 5 fishes ... nolifers paradise ...
