Masonry and mining.

Postby Mafious » Thu Jan 26, 2017 3:27 am

i was under the impresion that cave dust is the same q as the vein of ore/stone you're currently mining, but i've encountered q50 and q68 cave dust while getting only q30 something stone. my masonry is 61 and my pickaxe is q22. does pickaxe q softcaps the q of the ore mined ?

Every ore has it's own quality field now, presuming that Cavedust would count as a mined ore, it would just fall under it's own q field. However, I am pretty sure tool q does softcap the metal.

i thought i read somewhere that catgold, seashells and the pink cristals have their own q nodes, but cave dust was always the q of tile being mined.

Can confirm that the dust is not the q of the tile.

No it has it's own q.

Everything has it's own Q now, so cave dust isn't related to anything other than cave dust. Stone to it's own specific stone type and ore to it's own specific ore type.
It's a bit shit for mining IMO.
