[ANSWERED]Getting Move Cards

Will you always get move cards from animals, if you can?

I feel like I got several very quickly from ants and now I can massacre dozens of them and not get any.

It slows down pretty quick. Generally speaking, you get a couple from ants and bats, but it's foxes/badgers/boars that give you the majority of your early ones.

Try to get an IP generator + chop. Then buy or make a sword and it'll be a lot easier to hunt the fox/badger range with 30 agi / 30 ua for stats. Boars are doable with a horse or boat, I'd be wary otherwise. Armor suggested.

Still using UA for melee combat?

I've got 30UA, 25MC and have been REALLY enjoying my low Q shield. SO MANY FEWER WOUNDS OMG.

I'm about to try to hit my first fox and have my first set of leather armor's hide in the tubs.

I fought a bat, easily beat him, but he fled and eventually treed himself and won't come out? Can you use a sling on a bat in a tree?

trees blocking LoS means bats are hard to fight, just go into caves and be careful until you've got a bat cape. And uh, yeah I use UA but mostly because it's what I'm used to. I'd say 50 ua until you get enough cards of various melee moves to get a decent opener for them, then switch to full melee if that's your plan. If you just pumped Melee you'd have trouble with boar due to struggling to get openers, but ehn it'd be doable from a boat/horse.

But it's just that, advice. I'm not always right :P

Also if you find a cave or one of those new mini caves, you can use them to hunt instead of boat or a horse.
you agro the animal and pull them to the cave entrance, then you hit it a bit and go inside to remove your openings.
then just repeat, when it starts to run you chase it, until goes back to attack you and then you run back to the cave
and do it again, unless you can just finish it.

This works best on boars because they're slow.

Is a chance to get combat move depends on your attributes/skill and overall superiority over oponent? Beacouse if so it would better to stop develop combat skills/attributes until you get enough moves from ants/bats/foxes and save LP for latter. I have 60/44 UA/AGI and more often get combat moves from boars and lynxes rather then from fox and badger, so i wonder is my combat strenght matter?

I think it has to do with moves you possess rather than your stats compared to the opponent. I've often been curious about that though, if there's some comparative.

Unless the devs confirm it one way or the other, it's too cumbersome for me to test though.
