How do I cure an infected sore?

Postby Buddy7787 » Fri Jul 28, 2017 4:56 am

It grows faster than two people can gather meat for soap, we haven't been able to eat meat for four days and it just goes up and up XD, anyone know something we don't?

Yeah I know that wounds like this suck for new players and I think best method is healing roots.

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Localized_Resources

Step 1: Find Ancient Windthrow
Step 2: Identify and see time remaining
Step 3: Make wilderniss beacon, get some LP from discoveries, buy 6 survival
Step4: Craft 2x taproot lacing (2 taproots, 0,4 litre water) Craft 1x sprucecap (2x spruce bough, 1x string) Craft 1x clogs (2 blocks of wood)
Step5: Attach taproot lacing to clogs & sprucecap & give to new char. It now has 10 survival.
Step6: Check the tree every once in a while with identify to see time remaining, try to login as close as you can to when it spawns.

Or waste a whole bunch of meat/fat and mess with boiling low q shit soap of which you need 20 bars by the time you got the actual materials xD

Infected sore is very shit early on, if you don't have much yet I'd say make combat/forage char a different one and this one can stay crippled in base.. But yeah your choice and depends on how much you play and what you already have..

Haven't been able to find one of those roots yet, got a bat cape and full leather but I can't get enough meat to keep up with its growth, got about 17 soap charges and 28 infected sore value and it keeps going up and down randomly, but mostly up.

yea seriously don't mess with the soap, just step up and find yourself an ancient windthrow. They're not that rare, and the roots cure basically anything and everything. Soap is for much later on in the game when you're established and have domestic animals and mining going on for reliable rendered fat and limestone.

to get a lot of meat, eventually, you can try to kill horses/auriochs with bow and arrow, or get to one of the biomes that spawns chickens, those are good for some meat and you can use the bones while you're there to get some good bone glue (wich is always handy).

Just use the meat for progression and really go for these windthrows man,

try questing on an aternative character to force you to explore more of the area.

Camping 1 windthrow would help a lot already.

Don't spoil meat on soap

Eh... I've always had a couple cabinets full of excess meat of one type or anther because there is always some missing ingredient for sausages.

Will agree soap is tedious to make, though. Be nice if there were something we could add to an oven to render meat down and collect fat.

Eh... I've always had one cat sitting on top of my head when playing Haven but this also doesn't help OP, point is that really early on this wound can fuck you a lot and the only thing worthwhile is camping localized resource with alt.

Welcome to haven, your account just got crippled.
Now make a new one so you can get your medicine.

Great wound X fucking D.

I propose just to make account not able to get infected sore in first 10 days of creation so this shit doesn't have to happen :)

Not overpowered because you still get the original wound, just doesn't turn into this aids as a form of mercy for the first few days.

It's also not because I'm feeling sorry for having the wound it's just that the treatment is not realistic without camping localized resource with alt.

Which shouldn't be encouraged on it's own in my opinion.

As a noob... it'll fix itself. Not worth the time of camping for it IMO unless you want to make an alt and hope you don't get ganked or followed trying to retrieve the roots. Other option is to just murder a couple flock of chickens.

As someone that ran around with a 60 point wound in w8 and didn't really worry too much about it, it's not a Big Deal. Eat more CON food. Just getting to 40 con gives you 200 base HHP.

I'd have no argument with this. It's a matter of convincing devs of this.
