Quest tree missing

Postby morilux » Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:29 am

So I have a quest to bring iron ocher to a tree. I found the location and the tree was missing, So I made a mine hole about 10 tiles away from the spot assuming my tree was underground. I go into my mine hole and there's no pointer to the tree on l1 of the mine. Is my tree deeper possibly? Has it been chopped down but still giving quests? Any ideas? :?:

In case the pointer on the surface points at empty ground: the questgiver is underground, it doesn't need to be on L1.
As long as the pointer exists on the surface the giver is alive.

The pointer won't show underground on the wrong level though, possibly this should be changed to show as long as you're above the place.

Related question to this thread, I cut down a quest tree when I couldn't talk to it, assuming it was bugged or something. Did I really screw anyone who had a quest for that tree? Will quests be given for a tree that doesn't exist?

If you had a quest to that tree, did the quest fail when you cut it down? If not, it wasn't your tree. Your princess is in another cas... err your tree is on another level. :D

If there's a bug, it's better to come to the forums so the devs can investigate the problem rather than cutting it down. Once you cut it down, they may have no way to investigate the problem situation.

The quest did fail when it was cut down. I'll keep that in mind if it happens again.

I should have mentioned earlier... what kind of quest was it? Maybe you were doing something wrong? If you could describe it and what you did, maybe there is still a bug the devs can take a look at.

It was the first/starter/whatever quest. Talk to Tree A, it tells you to talk to Tree B and report back. Tree B wouldn't talk.
