Help!

Postby Hoblit » Fri Jan 05, 2018 7:01 pm

Hey, came back to haven and hearth like a week ago and me & a friend got our little place going, just recently I started trying to mine, I unlocked mining and went on my way to an abandoned mine hole in a nearby dead village. I have my stone axe of like 10 in quality (no idea how to get it higher) and my strength is 14. Every single wall I try to mine is too hard, I have no idea what to do, seeing as we need metal to continue on our development

Can someone explain to me how to actually start mining?

Yeah, you're just super weak. You won't be able to mine anything with those noodly arms

Get your masonry up, go out exploring, and look for stone patches on the ground. Dig stone up from them. You can find better quality stones that way. Get a pack full. Make an axe. Should be better quality than 10. Next, chop down a tree and get a block of wood. Use your new axe to split the block. The quality of sticks is now higher (average of the axe and block of wood). Repeat with the stones you have quarried up until your axe quality is close to the stone quality.

It's a possibility. Might even find a decent pick or axe. My experience says that the good stuff has been looted, and the only stuff left are q10 or worse... at least if you don't want to have to deal with the black skills.

how would one get more strength? I made loads of nutjerky and ate it but got no gain from it.

How would these stone patches look? will they show up on my map or something?

And thank you to everyone else that replied! :)
