At what point are you considered good?

Postby fishbro001 » Mon Dec 03, 2018 11:00 am

Hey I want to find out at what stats/abilities do people start throwing their weight around?
When can I not worry about every player I see, when I am considered "strong" enough to not be attacked on sight and respected?

Since nobody will have a clue what stats and abilities you have, don't ever expect to not be attacked at random. If you dress rich, someone will attack you for what you wear or because you're probably the "other faction." If you dress like a newb, you'll get attacked because you're intruding or a spy.

If you just want to throw your weight around... have fun and just go wild. You'll get your ass handed to you more than a few times, but you'll learn a lot of valuable lessons on what to do or not do.

The odds of actually being attacked, especially at this point in the game, are very low. Unless you're walking around localized resources on mountains, or a few of the larger cities. The animals in the game probably kill more people than other players do.

These were some wise writings. I keep a copy on my device to peruse... (though I wish I could find one that had the actual writings in English without the translator's remarks and philosophical musings. If you know of a translation like this in English, PM me? Seems I have looked at them all, but I'm sure I haven't.)

Best advice is probably more social than game mechanics: be a sociable player, even if not necessarily the friendly type, not an ass or leetist, though the latter there probably will score you big points with some people.

Even in a young world with more people running around it's pretty low. But it's almost non-existent in a world this long running. (This is from personal experience... wish I had server logs to parse to do some statistical research.)

I've never been afraid to be attacked and killed, and i'm by all standards still new (and bad). But I've run into maybe 100 + players in the wild, and only 1 has been openly aggressive. Didn't get to kill me though as I was within running distance of my home, where I had a very weak, but strong looking town guard with hussars wings and shitty sword & shield run out to open the gates and meet the pursuer.

but, if I could take a bit of your topic title and put a spin on it - At what point are you "good to go" , Then I'd say when you have no fear. Death is inevitable.

I see, thanks
and I am sorry, but I've never actually read art of war, just heard my father quote it a lot and that's where I heard about him. Thanks for reminding me I have to get around to doing that.
