Roadposts and Milestones?

Postby LtTurtleshot » Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:34 pm

So I've been trying to put up a road to a nearby water point but everytime I try to travel, I only get to the second roadsign. All roadsigns are clear of obstacles, cliff, trees, rocks, etc.

I read that roads now behave differently. Like they block each other now apparently? Can someone help me out?

try a follow instead of travel, if that works, you should be able to travel

Now you have to plan your road and make it properly walkable (instead of just plopping post after post mindlessly like a lot of people did in previous worlds). That means rotating the posts in a way that nothing blocks the path between "control points", including posts themselves.

yep your path is prob blocked by the mile stone. do a slight zigzag of the mile stones and you should be fine. you have to be able to walk the entire path otherwise FT wont work

Not necessary. You can have a road following a straight line. Just use post's orientation properly.

When placing the signs there is a pointer that marks the waypoint, rotate/place so the path between the waypoints of a road is free of hitboxes (character needs to be able to walk between them in a straight line without getting blocked or pushed out by something) or you'll be wayled when trying to travel.

What do you guys mean by post orientation? Do I have to place the pos facing towards the last post or towards the next? Is it the little arrow? The little arrows need to be in line?

Because I can actually follow the road no problem, but I can't travel at that point specifically.

Think of the markers like you'd see them on an actual road. You don't stick them in the middle of the road, you place them to the side and traffic follows along beside them. The marker is there to tell you where the characters and traffic will path through.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Might be a bit more clearer that way.

I long for a client that can show a line between the last road spot and the next one being indicated.
