Bee skep benefits

Can multiple bee skeps be stacked next to each other to provide extra bonuses to the fields in their range or is the maximum benefit achieved from just one skep>

Sevenless wrote:Each time a crop grows to the next stage, it checks if there's a beehive within range. If it finds beehive, the time before the next stage change is reduced, and the beehive receives a usage tick. Beehives can store up to 50 uses (and noting how jorb worded it, it's likely they start will a full 50 when first created), and will regenerate 6 uses per hour. Crops using a beehive will cause honey and wax production (exact mechanics unknown), but jorb has stated there is a low level of base production of honey/wax by a hive even if it has no crops nearby.

If this is accurate, stacking is only useful if you have too many crops for one skep to handle.

We've no reason to expect a change to the core mechanics of bee skeps, so I'd go with what's known.

And what was known long ago in Wiki was that approximately one bee skep for every 50 square meters of crops is optimum. Maybe that changed, maybe not, but if I were you I'd compute it like that. if you have 10x10 meters of crops, you need 2 skeps. if you have 20x20 you need 8. You know, just one skep every 50 square meters and you're fine.

If you use too many, no pb. More skeps will make more rarely honey and wax each one. Totaling to about the same production as the optimal number, so it does not hurt at all. Less skeps than optimum means less honey and wax per month and also some crops get help, some do not. Just like someone complained in another thread. And too few skeps do hurt.

PS: Visual radius of a skep certainly does not mean one skep can cover all that area alone. It simply shows how far could those 50 square meters be from the skep.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

Only if those crops do 3 stage changes per IRL day since you get 144 charges. However at least 1/50 tiles is optimal because crop change in a burst and the skep only holds 50.

Totaling to about the same production as the optimal number, so it does not hurt at all.

There is a base production value even if a crop never grows around the hive. If you don't mind waiting for wax you will get more with 100 skeps than you would with 1 per 50 tiles. However at that point might as well just store those elsewhere.

My skep is running at max capacity and making wax every other day. I'd guesstimate 300 ticks per wax.

Wouldn't that actually be about 400 (~50 every 6 hours)?

I have village mate claim he gets this larva before, but I do not know if it is every time.
