You can find spots you don't need much, but I'd suggest minimum 50 and q30 tool. Either eat for it, or raise via gilds and credos (Quarryman, miner)

I know I’m kinda hijacking this thread but how about level 6?

I started mining at lvl 2 with a strength of about 60 and a pickaxe q12, but it was tough. Upgrading the pickaxe to 20+ made it MUCH easier.

I know there's a good degree of randomness, but if you're not rocking Q60 pick and 150 after gild str you're probably out of luck on L6. Beyond that rock type and hardness node really matter so it's difficult to say.

Good news is that when you try to drop a minehole on a spot you can't mine it won't let you.

Have not tried L6 yet personally, but there are spots even on L3 which might be challenging (up to unminable) with stats like these...

I'm rolling 268 str and 66 ql pick and I definitely can't mine the majority of my L4, can hardly touch my L5, and can only place the minehole in a couple spots to go to 6.

This is a fun thread.

Yeah same for us, somewhat annoying because we havent found any really decent nodes on upper floors but level 6 seems to be rolling in them, actually finding mineable spots though is a challenge.

Yeah, I've just encountered this. Has anyone worked out yet, if it refers to the 2*2 area of the actual minehole, or to the whole of the area opened up on the lower level?

Basically I don't want to drop the hole smack into the ore (which I can mine), and also don't want to have to mine out the entire cave wall to place it either.
