Depends on your values in Unarmed Combat and Melee Combat. Current meta though is to level Unarmed combat and use it for opening (attacking enemy), and using MC attack (such as Cleave) to deal damage (stats in Unarmed and Melee do not affect the damage, only the amount of openings you deal). Also these stats define how well you "defend" against openings. So if you use Unarmed (i.e. spent LP on it), you can use Chin Up or other unarmed-based maneuver for defenses. You can see which stat - UA or MC - the maneuver uses in his description.

What about damage values lets say a foxhas 50 green opening and my weapon deals 20 damage does that mean it deals 10?

So, I'm not gonna lie when I say "You don't really want to get into that formula". I can't trace it down at the exact moment either, but for a general rule of thumb: Hitting at 30 opening for a single opening attack (sideswipe) will start dealing noteworthy damage, while hitting at a min of 50 opening on one of the colours for a dual opening attack (cleave, sting, etc) is usually a decent benchmark.

You will never deal more damage than your weapon stats, that's the max possible.

This is a link to the update that gave us the current combat system. Jorb explains the math behind how everything works on that post.

Quick barrage is a really strong move early on because of it's speed, I think early on I typically just use barrage and finish with cleave, or just barrage to death before you get cleave.

I've had either uppercut or QB suggested with full circle as a finisher for boar spears. Considering the meta is UA pure for pvp or UA/MC hybrid for PvE I'd probably put my money on uppercut/full circle.

in the maneuver description, the hand icon means your Unnarmed Combat, while the shield icon means your Melee Combat

it is usually multiplied by something, so you know what is your higher "Block Weight"
