Getting out of a Bat Cave

Question:

I stepping inside a bat cave. Apparently, someone had been in before--the door was unlocked and all the bats, queen included apparently, were right at the entrance and took me down before the screen had loaded. I can't warp out, obviously, but I also can't walk back to the exit, since they swarm when I wake. Took an alt in a bit later to see if they had reset positions, but nope. Now I have no idea how to get my guys out. What am I missing?

Can't. Giant swarm, blocking path, hit point loss too rapid, etc. Dropped me twice trying. That will kill me, eventually, I'm sure. Will they eventually leave the area or not instantly aggro?

What if you:
1. Spawn fresh alt outside of batcave
2. Shift+RMB batcave entrance
3. Wait 'till map's loaded
4. Run in and kite bats away from your guys
5. Retry if needed

Well, that's essentially what I tried. The alt was knocked out the instant I entered. No kiting possible. What would shift-rmb change?

With shift-enter your client will load dungeon before you'll actually get inside (and get attacked)

Ah. That might have helped. No alt to build a beacon now, though. Will the cave not eventually reset the positions of the bats? Surely the queen has a fixed position deeper in the dungeon.

If I log out and log back in at some later time, will the tile load with the bats deaggroed, giving me a chance to run my guys to the exit? This feels like a beginner's trap or something.

As far as i saw, no, minor bats don't reset their positions and can camp an entrance forever

Well, if by minor you mean ordinary, my characters both have the bat wing cape, not that it helped. I'm sure I could deal with a bunch of ordinary ones. My issue was the purple, brown, and maybe queen bat(s) camping the entrance. If those reset positions, it wouldn't be such an issue.
